Abstract

PEQUI is a group that provide care for first psychotic crises, with an approach that aims to promote democratic, person-centered care, carried out in a dialogic way and that supports Recovery. It is a proposal adapted to the needs of those looking for the service, in this sense, it offers flexible forms of service to the demands and contexts encountered. The group emphasizes the importance of the presence of a significant network of the person during the process, offering a space for dialogue in which different perspectives can be welcomed. Its theoretical foundation is phenomenology, phenomenological psychopathology and is rooted in a tradition of democratic proposals in the field of mental health. This article presents, through an experience report, PEQUI's proposal, seeking to clarify the foundations that justify its action. To this end, the basic principles of open dialogue and the PHD method are presented, unveiling a dialogical proposal enriched by the contributions of phenomenological psychopathology. The article also contributes with reflections on key issues of crisis care in the context of mental health and provides some alternatives and action tools. This report is expected to instigate reflections on this field of activity and contribute to the advancement of research on care for first psychotic crises.
