Abstract

This article was based on the frequent citation present in Frankl's works regarding the relationship between the etiology of existential emptiness and the decline of traditions. In seeking to clarify what Frankl refers to as the decline of traditions and why this would be one of the causes of the phenomenon of existential emptiness, the present study conducted a bibliographic exploratory research with a qualitative approach utilizing the dialectical method. As a result, it elucidated a crucial theme for understanding Logotherapy and Existential Analysis, contributing to avoiding theoretical distortions by providing greater clarification of essential concepts such as meaning and value, clarifying that Logotherapy is phenomenological and not moral, as the author himself stated. In the discussions of the results, a critical analysis was presented on the topic, raising necessary debates about contemporaneity and demonstrating the urgency of interventions and changes at both individual and collective levels. However, the final discussions emphasize the complexity of the topic, indicating the need for further exploration while acknowledging the limitations of the research.
