Affectivity in practical philosphy

Affectivity as a research topic has been gaining importance not only within philosophy, specifically phenomenology, but also in other disciplines concerning human and social sciences. This revival of affectivity has been followed by a surplus of investigations in different domains, prompting philosophy’s so called affective turn. The present article adds to this academic effort by determining that affectivity has a central role in practical philosophy, particularly un the development of philosophical workshops. Thus, the article starts with an overview of the concept of affectivity as it was interpreted by Michel Henry, looking to identify its central role within the workshops and in practical philosophy. Then, the theme of the workshop will be determined, namely, the meaning of life, which will be defined from Viktor Frankl’s theory, followed by a general presentation of the workshop that was created. This will be followed by a presentation of the results of the application of the workshop, which will be subsequently analized.
